Duncan Nicol Robertson was born in London in 1975. He read English Language and Literature at Oxford University, before working as a publishing officer for various charity and public sector organisations.
In 2005, he began working as a freelance photographer with a particular interest in contemporary social issues including housing, education and care. His work has appeared in various publications including The Guardian, The Times, and The Times Educational Supplement.
He exhibited in the group shows 28 Stories, Overexposed City, The Opportunity Area and The Elephant Vanishes. He also exhibited in the Renaissance Prize 2011 show.
